DAY 1: Arrival Day, Meet and Greet

Arrive at Johannesburg International airport and be met by your host, Wildlife Veterinarian, Dr Sally Armstrong. Sally is a Wildlife Veterinarian, Australian born and living in South Africa. A passionate advocate for wildlife conservation Sally has been running her conservation safaris since 2014. Sally will be your personal guide on this fully organised and immersive 14 day safari, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime! After checking into your room meet the group for a welcome dinner before settling in for a good nights sleep. 

DAY 2: Welcome to the Eastern Cape – Elephant Conservation Encounter

After departing from Johannesburg we depart for an early morning flight and arrive in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. We then travel through the scenic countryside to meet rescued bull elephants Duma, Thaba, and Mukwa. We chat with their passionate carers and learn about elephant conservation and hear the story about how these 3 gentle giants were rescued. We then take a guided walk with the elephants through the nature reserve and reward them with some tasty breakfast pellets. After this exciting encounter we say goodbye and depart for the stunning Buffalo Kloof  Private Game Reserve for a luxurious stay before venturing out for an afternoon game drive and some sundowners.

DAY 3: Helicopter flight over game reserve

Today we start the day with an early morning game drive followed by a delicious cooked breakfast. Then its time to get ready for an exhilarating helicopter flight over the reserve giving you a birds eye view of the many species of roaming wildlife from above. This is one ride you will not forget as you fly through spectacular valleys and over mountainous forest giving you the opportunity to see this expansive landscape from the air. After some relaxation time at the lodge we have lunch and head out for an afternoon game drive providing many amazing photo opportunities before arriving back at the lodge for a drink around the fire and a scrumptious dinner.

DAY 4: Cheetah Conservation & Tracking

After waking for an early morning game drive join the reserve's ecologist for the rare opportunity to track one of the reserves habituated cheetah on foot. Learn about the unique  challenges cheetah conservationists face while capturing this unforgettable moment up close  in the wilderness. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge and enjoying a scenic game drive while stopping at a spectacular lookout point to watch the sunset.

After breakfast we farewell the team at Buffalo Kloof Lodge and depart for PE airport for our flight to King Shaka Airport in Durban. We then transfer to the world famous Phinda Private Game Reserve and settle into this stunning lodge before enjoying an afternoon game drive with your private game vehicle and guide. Return to the lodge for a tasty dinner prepared by your own personal chef.

DAY 6: Rhino Conservation & Zulu Cultural Community Visit

Today we embark on another conservation adventure with one of Africa's most iconic species, the rhino! Meet the wildlife vet

and the conservation team and using sophisticated AI tracking technology assist in the collaring of a rhino. These collars are vital in rhino conservation and help to protect these vulnerable creatures and combat rhino poaching. After being darted from a helicopter and immobilised we will assist the team in fitting one of these collars while the rhino sleeps. After this incredible experience you feast on a well deserved lunch before visiting a local Zulu community to learn about their traditional customs and culture . A traditional African dinner will then be specially prepared outside in the boma so you can enjoy the starry night sky.

DAY 7: Rhino Dehorning & Pangolin Tracking

After breakfast we join up with the conservation team to participate in another rhino conservation procedure, a rhino de-horning which is another strategy aimed at protecting this species from poachers. Later, we head into the wilderness on foot to track the elusive pangolin and assist researchers in gaining valuable information to aid conservation efforts. After many exciting activities we end the day with some sunset drinks on the reserve and a specially prepared gourmet dinner. 

DAY 8: Guided forest Walk & Meet K9 Anti - Poaching Team

Enjoy an early morning guided walk or an e-bike ride through the magical sand forest where you are sure to spot a number of beautiful bird and antelope species. Enjoy some time relaxing at the lodge, getting a massage or lazing by your private pool. After lunch head out to meet the anti-poaching team and their specialised canine companions. Enjoy a final afternoon game drive on this stunning reserve before stopping for sunset drinks and a magical bush dinner!

DAY 9: Welcome to Cape Town

After getting up close and personal with some of Africa's most magnificent species we farewell Phinda Private Game Reserve and fly to the beautiful city of Cape Town. As you fly into this stunning city marvel at its breathtaking mountains and ocean views. Upon arrival settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing afternoon before dining at one of the city’s best local restaurants. 

DAY 10: Cape Point Nature Reserve & Endangered Penguin Colony

Experience some of the most spectacular scenery Cape Town has to offer as we journey over Chapman's Peak Drive through to Cape Point Nature Reserve where you are sure to see some of the local wildlife inhabitants. Along the way we visit an ostrich farm and one of the world's most endangered penguin colonies before stopping for lunch over the ocean.In the evening we venture out to sample some of Cape Towns best wines and gourmet food at a popular restaurant.

DAY 11: World Famous Table Mountain

Venture up the aerial cable car for spectacular views from the top of the world famous Table Mountain. Take advantage of some amazing photo opportunities before heading to one of Cape Town's most popular tourist destinations, the very vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Dine at one of the many delicious restaurants while watching African performers before doing some souvenir shopping.Enjoy a traditional African dinner while listening to some African drumming and watching a live performance. 

DAY 12: Stunning Wine lands Tour

Visit some of Cape Town’s best wineries as you travel through the scenic wine lands and taste some of South Africa's finest wines before enjoying a delicious lunch.  Spend the afternoon relaxing at your guesthouse before a casual dinner.

DAY 13 : Optional Activities

Enjoy  your final full day in Cape Town with a choice of relaxing at your  luxury guesthouse or participating in various optional activities. There are many activities on offer including:

* Kayaking with the Penguins
