RHINO COLLARING

If you've ever wondered what its like to go behind the scenes in the world of rhino conservation then this is your chance! Work alongside leading conservationists and wildlife vets in helping to protect one of South Africa's most iconic species. Targeted by poachers for their horns rhinos are at risk of extinction due to the demand for rhino horn and it's use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Watch as the wildlife vet darts the rhino from a helicopter and once safely immobilised take part in the fitting of newly developed AI tracking collars while carrying out a rhino health check and assisting the team in the administration of treatments.  Learn about the many strategies being employed to help fight the war on rhino poaching and support these vital procedures by participating in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

RHINO DE-HORNING

Rhino de - horning is one of the many strategies necessary to protect  rhinos from extinction. Unfortunately the horns of these innocent creatures make them a target for poachers and in order to save them they must be removed. You will learn all about this procedure and  have the opportunity to assist the conservation crew as you get up close and personal to an anaesthetised and sleeping rhino. You will be given plenty of exciting photo opportunities and an experience guaranteed to never forget!
