ELEPHANT EXPERIENCES

ELEPHANT COLLARING

ELEPHANT COLLARING

ELEPHANT COLLARING

One of the many roles of wildlife conservationists and researchers is not only to protect animals under their care but to also gather important information which is vital in the preservation of these species. This is done via the placement of tracking collars which monitor the movement of elephants on these vast and very expansive reserves. Every few years these collars need replacing requiring wildlife vets to dart the elephant from a helicopter using very powerful and efficient drugs. Here you will have the opportunity to take part in this very exciting procedure and witness the safe and effective immobilisation of a creature that can weigh up to 5-7 tonnes! This is truly an experience you will never forget!
