
Arrive in Cape Town (voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world) and be met by your host, Dr Sally Armstrong. Sally is a Wildlife Veterinarian, Australian born and living in South Africa. A passionate advocate for wildlife conservation Sally has been running her conservation safaris since 2014. Sally will be your personal guide on this fully organised and immersive 17 day safari, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime!

After a peaceful nights sleep enjoy a delicious breakfast before travelling past some of Cape Towns most stunning landscapes to the beautiful Boulders Beach. Here we will visit the world's only colony of endangered South African penguins before stopping for lunch at a popular restaurant by the sea. We then continue on our scenic drive to Cape Point Nature Reserve where you can expect to see a variety of wildlife including baboons and if you are lucky some wild ostrich and antelope. We then head onto one of Cape Town's most vibrant areas for dinner and drinks at a local restaurant.

After breakfast we start the day with a drive along Chapman's Peak drive (prettier than the Amalfi Coast) travelling through the trendy Camps Bay and catch the cable car up to the world famous Table Mountain. Be blown away with 360 degree views of this spectacular city and majestic mountains before heading to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront for lunch and an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing. You may want to jump on the City's hop/hop off bus and tour nearby wineries where you will sample some of the world's best wine, take a boat cruise, visit the waterfront aquarium or shop until you drop at the waterfront's markets. After a fun filled day we meet up for dinner at a near by restaurant and indulge in some tasty and traditional African cuisine.

Today we farewell Cape Town for a scenic drive along the popular route 62 wine route making some interesting stops to look at some arts and crafts until we reach Buffelsdrift Game Reserve in the unique desert landscape of the Klein Karoo! Settle into your luxury safari tent overlooking the waterhole before heading out on an afternoon game drive to marvel at the beauty and wildlife on this picturesque reserve.

Wake up to a hot coffee ready for an early morning and very memorable Meerkat Safari! Watch these clever and habituated meerkats go about their morning routine as they play and scan their surroundings for potential predators after emerging from their burrows with the morning sun. Learn all about their behaviour from our very knowledgable guide before heading back to the lodge for lunch overlooking the waterhole where you may see hippos bathing. After lunch head out on an afternoon game drive to assist the ranger in feeding of the reserve's captive born and rescued lions. Learn their stories and then enjoy a drink at the open air lapa bar before feasting on a delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant.

Wake up and join the field ranger and learn about the reserves cheetah conservation program. Take part in the tracking of free roaming cheetah on foot via telemetry aiming to locate these shy cats via their satellite collars. We then leave the lodge to go on a very interesting and insightful ostrich farm tour. Here you will witness the different stages of the ostrich farming process from the hatching of chicks to the collecting and decorating of ostrich eggs. We then say goodbye to the Klein Karoo and travel along the world renowned Garden Route to the beautiful coastal town of Plettenberg Bay. We settle into our accomodation and relax before taking a sunset walk on the beach ending the day with dinner and drinks by the ocean at one of the areas award winning restaurants.

Start the day with a visit to Monkeyland, the world's first free roaming primate sanctuary with over 10 different primate and monkey species. Take a private and guided walk amongst the lush forest and watch these fascinating creatures up close as they feed and interact within their natural habitat. Learn about each species individual behaviours and conservation histories but be sure to hold onto your hats and sunnies! After a very educational and fun tour meeting a varinety of cheeky monkeys we go next door to Birds of Eden. This very unique free flight bird sanctuary contains over 220 bird species housed within a 2 hectare nature dome of indigenous forest with some birds having been rescued from the pet from all around the world. Its then time for lunch at the spectacular Natures Valley where we enjoy a hike over the mountain along the coast to a stunning lagoon in the rainforest. We end the day with a cocktail and a scrumptious dinner at a lovely restaurant overlooking the bay.

Get ready for an adventure packed day with a scenic kayaking tour through the spectacular Storm's River Gorge. Here you are in nature's playground as you paddle through deep pools and caves in the beautiful indigenous forest of the Tsitikamma National Park. After this exhilarating and very scenic tour we go for lunch at a famous American 60s diner before departing for more fun on a segway tour! Roll your way past some of the world's tallest and oldest trees with your guide who will tell you all about the history of this enchanting forest and the elusive forest elephants. We then head back to our accomodation and enjoy a casual dinner.

Start the day with a thrilling zip line experience through the lush tree tops in the Tsitikamma National Park. After gearing up with your safety harness you will be accompanied by a guide as you glide high through the canopy from elevated wooden platforms. This will give you a magnificent aerial view of the forest and if lucky you may even spot some Vervet monkeys amongst an abundance of different bird species. After this exciting adventure we get back to ground level its then time to leave and travel further up the coast to the Eastern Cape and the world famous Jeffreys Bay. Here we will spend the next few days surfing and exploring while staying right on the beach at the iconic surf break 'Supertubes.'

Wake up to a world class view of the ocean from your guesthouse where you can expect to see dolphins playing in the waves and some of the world's best surf! Whether you are an experienced surfer or a novice there are plenty of breaks to suit every level. There is even a professional surf coach on hand to give lessons and provide guidance OR if you just prefer to swim with the dolphins or chill on land there is plenty of options to explore. You may want to embrace the local surf culture and visit the surf museum, relax on the beach with a good book, take a leisurely walk around the town and visit the local surf factory outlets or go for a beach ride on a horse or a fat bike along the waters edge. Whatever you choose theres plenty to do in this iconic surf town with everything right on your doorstep!

After an exciting few days in the world famous surf town today we leave J- Bay and travel to Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape. Here we will spend the night in cosy forest chalets and meet 3 rescued Bull elephants.....Duma, Thaba and Mukwa! While staying at this special lodge we will get to know these 3 inspiring elephants and learn of their unique rescue stories from their passionate carers. Get up close and personal as you go on a guided walk with these 3 gentle giants through the nature reserve before rewarding them with their favourite treats. After this awe- inspiring experience its time to leave for the airport and catch our flight to Durban in the KZN province. On arrival we travel via private road transfer to the five star Phinda Private Game Reserve.Once settled into your chalet enjoy an afternoon/evening game drive and don't forget your camera as you prepare for some spectacular wildlife viewing.

Once at Zuka Lodge we will spend the next 3 nights with the lodge all to ourselves with our very own ranger, private safari vehicle, chef and butler. Along with twice daily game drives you will also go behind the scenes and get hands on in some very exciting wildlife conservation procedures. Today is one you won't forget as you assist the wildlife vet and the conservation team in darting and collaring a white rhino! After a presentation and briefing on todays activity by the wildlife vet get on board your private safari vehicle and watch as the rhino is skillfully darted from a helicopter before assisting the team to fit a sophiticated AI tracking collar helping to keep it safe from poachers. After making the most of this unique photo opportunity we head back to the lodge to enjoy a gourmet lunch and some relaxation time before heading out on a late afternoon game drive to meet the reserves specialised canine anti-poaching unit. Meet the handlers and their talented canine companions and hear how they help to keep the rhinos safe. We then end the day by stopping for some sunset drinks before heading back to the lodge for a specially prepared gourmet dinner in the boma under the starry African sky.

Start the day with an early morning game drive while stoppping for some hot coffee and morning snacks out on the reserve. After many amazing wildlife sightings head back to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy a relaxing massage or just laze by the pool. Watch the warthogs and antelope play on the lawn in front of the lodge and the wildlife come down to the waterhole as you eat lunch. We then head out for an afternoon game drive where you will join the ecologist on foot and use specialised equipment to track the elusive pangolin, a creature rarely ever seen in the wild! Learn about this highly endangered mammal as you assist the ecologist to change its tracking device and gather important research data which aids in conservation efforts. After dark head back to the lodge and sit around the fire while enjoying a glass of some of South Africa's best wine as your personal chef prepares a traditional African braii (bbq) for dinner.

Wake up for a scrumptious breakfast before heading out onto the game reserve on foot with your experienced ranger for an exciting morning game walk. Learn how to track a variety of different wildlife species as you identify footprints in the sand and feel the thrill of viewing these species from a safe distance at ground level.You will then have some time to relax and enjoy the serenity of this magical bush lodge before leaving for a visit to the local Zulu community where you will meet many interesting community members including a traditional Zulu healer. Learn all about the Zulu culture while visiting a local school and orphanage with the opportunity to purchase some custom and hand made souvenirs from the local Zulu ladies. Once back at the lodge enjoy some afternoon tea before heading out on your final game drive. As the sun sets enjoy a drink by the waterhole and then be treated to a spectacular bush dinner specially prepared by your personal chef and team from Zuka lodge, a rare experience you are sure to remember.

After a final early morning game drive we farewell our wonderful hosts at Zuka Lodge and depart for Durban airport ready for our flight back to Cape Town. After a very memorable 17 day safari with some spectacular wildlife sightings, participation in once in a lifetime conservation activities and fabulous food,wine and accomodation you will be sure to cross a few things off your bucket list! Not only will you be going home having met some inspirational people and making some new found friends but you will also be leaving South Africa with some unforgettable memories and a greater appreciation for the world of wildlife conservation!
